Small motorcycles and tricycles in categories L1e and L2e undergo their first STK within 4 years of initial registration, and then every 4 years after that. Larger motorcycles in category L3e and above (including L4e, L5e, L6e, L7e) undergo their first STK within 4 years, and then every 2 years after that.

A caravan or trailer inspection is typically faster than a passenger vehicle inspection – usually 20–30 minutes depending on the type.
